Dr. Shah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience at Franklin & Marshall College. She completed her optometric education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) in Philadelphia where she graduated magna cum laude honors upon completion of her doctorate degree. During her time at PCO, Dr. Shah was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for her academic excellence. She developed passions for ocular disease, primary care optometry, and contact lens fittings throughout her rotations, including the Lyons VA Hospital in New Jersey.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, listening to podcasts, and exploring and supporting local businesses. She takes pride in her heritage and can speak Gujarati fluently. |
Dr. Shah's passion for optometry stems from growing up with her father who was blind. He was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, an ocular condition which gradually leads to vision loss. His condition has made her realize how complex blindness is, which drove her to understand it better through optometry.
